Our dog team captain, Dr Paula Cameron, is a really good artist as well as a super veterinarian. Somehow she found time to think up and paint some great things for our 2003 team events, including 1) a wonderful team logo (top left); and Call of the Wild poster that Mom is holding in the picture under the banner; the big sign at the entrance to Maplewood Gardens (above); and a colorful map for trail walkers that reminded me of Pooh Bear's Enchanted Forest.

Alex and Jacob Hawkins's Corgis, Basil and Faith, were almost the first dogs to arrive.

Early morning rain didn't dampen our spirits at all -- we just waited out the rain in a Maplewood barn. Bridgett Cameron (Lab) and Roy Eberts (Basset) walked the trail once with their owners and again later as a rent-a-dogs.
Peggy Swan's broken foot didn't slow her down at all. Here she is telling Mrs. Davis and me that we raised over $500 that day for cancer research. The sign in front of Mrs. Swan describes one of our fundraisers--a neat water bottle carrier that has a nifty little fold-up water bowl for dogs tucked in a side pocket.
